I have fought this for quite some time now, and as many of you know have been very resistant to starting a blog, however, today is the day! Today is the day of my inaugural post, and today I will be speaking my mind about a terrible, horrible, inconveniently strong ball of wind and rain named Ike. Ike is the evil destructive hurricane man who is truly messing with my weekend plans. As I am sure many of you Houstonians already know, there is a hurricane creeping in from the gulf that is "most likely" going to cause some issues in Houston. Usually I would not mind too much, because it doesn't look like the Sugar Land area is going to be hit (not that I don't worry about the other coast dwellers) however, my soon to be mother in law is planning a big wedding shower shindig in Austin, and has been working VERY hard to make everything perfect. Cody, my wonderful future husband is flying into Houston tomorrow evening, and we have to decide how to get to Austin amidst the uncertainty of the possible poor weather conditions, and possible road delays. The very frustrating key word here is "possible!" There is really know way to know what to do. Do we wait in 20hr traffic because people are evacuating to Austin? Do we risk our lives in a tornado? Is nothing going to happen at all, and I will regret every worrying about this? WHO KNOWS? All I know is that I want to get to Austin by 1:00 p.m. Saturday, so everybody pray that somehow Ike decided to show us some mercy, and turn around and dissolve in the ocean. He is not welcome here! On a happier note, I am thrilled to have finally started a blog. I will try to think of good things to write about, and keep you wedding watchers happy by posting some of the lastest planning details and upcoming wedding events. Thanks for reading :)
