Anyway, Dana had the opportunity to go to Ireland for a few weeks, and asked me if I could come and stay with sweet Aiden for a little while. Friday happened to be her 6th birthday, and I was able to spend some of the day with her. I was worried that she would be sad not waking up to her mommy on her big day, so I tried to make her morning really special.
If you knew Aiden, you would know that she is one imaginative little person, and she LOVES to pretend she is a princess. I decided to make her, her own Cinderella's castle as a suprise when she woke up (notice it's pretty lame and looks NOTHING like the real deal, but she was impressed luckily). She woke me up at 5:00 A.M. and said that the excitement was just KILLING her, and informed me that now that she is 6 and not 5 she can handle getting less sleep. Below are some pictures of our fun morning together. Sorry they are so small, I don't know whats up with that.

Heading to school for the big day! She picked out this outfit, and said it was perfect for her birthday because she looked so beautiful.

All smiles eating her b-day donut holes and donuts!
I had an absolute BLAST with Aiden, but now have a stronger understanding of how tiring motherhood is. You would think taking care of something so small would be a piece of cake, but it really is tough. I think I will wait a little longer before I willingly enter into that role :) Mommy for a week was the perfect amount for me!

She is SO cute. I know what you mean though, I get done with a 45 minutes therapy session with a little kid and am SO tired! :)

HOW fun :) she is a preshling and you are a super cool substitute mom. Geez...you don't even have kids and I'm gonna have to call you for advice when I have a little girl...
LOVE YOU
You are so sweet!!! If I am ever away for one of Annie's birthdays, I am calling you to take care of her. I can tell you from a Mommy's view, you made her Mommy being away much easier for the Mommy. Looks like your little friend had a good time. I think it is funny she felt she had enough sleep. Even funnier thinking of you getting up with her. That is where a Mommy would have said, that is nice honey, but you really need to close your eyes a little longer. : ) Can't wait to see you in a few days.
Betho--that just proved to me that you will be the absolute best mother in the world when it's time!! That Cinderella Castle was so imaginative! what a sweetie-
love you and hope you're doing well!!
