Oh the joys of apartment living

So Cody and I have become increasingly frustrated with apartment living. We love our apartment and enjoy life here, but keep running into annoying little issues. Cody's car got broken into TWICE which is very odd because we do not live in the hood, and tried to be very conscious to the part of town we live in. When his car got broken into we started to park on the street but got parking tickets (oops) so had to resort back to the risky parking garage.

Next our hot water heater when kaput and then tonight our washing machine exploded! Seriously! Right now I am sitting with my feet elevated off the floor as our nice little maintenance man wet vacs up all the standing water that has covered the laundry "area" (wouldn't call it a room) and the hall way. Poor guy, I feel bad that we had to call him to come out so late. I bet he was at home warm in his bed. Is this normal? Are apartments just plain annoying?

On a different note, Cody has some excellent job news. He was able to get moved to a new position that will enable him to get home at 5:00 pm opposed to his normal 8:45 pm. We now have a some what normal schedule which is making life overall feel better.

One ANOTHER different note. I know I told some of you guys that I would post honeymoon pictures, and I still totally will do that. I keep forgetting, and when I do get on to blog I always up get on the computer that does not accept my memory card. I'll get those up soon!

We have also been on a quest to find a church where we really feel like we fit in, and are connected. Granted, we have not been trying very hard because we have been out of town, and only had the opportunity to try one place for 2-3 weeks which I am sure is not truly enough time to get to know a place. We did, however, go to Austin Stone last week which is a HUGE church and we LOVED it! Cody and I each signed up for our own Sunday evening classes, as well as a marriage class on Sunday mornings. We did want to join a class called "nearly and newly marrieds" but it was FULL! Isn't that strange?? I could not believe that a class could fill up at a church, but I am not going to hold it against them. We start these classes on Sunday the 22nd which is the Sunday after Sing Song in Abilene, so we need to make sure and hit the road ASAP! We are actually sneaking into the marriage class because they say you need to be married for at least 3 years, but we are dead set on being part of a marriage class so if they are kicking us out of one, we are going to join another! I'm pumped!

Everything else is pretty much the same with our little lives. I have been working a lot with my new training job which has been nice so I don't have to be at home so much by myself getting bored. I was starting to get a little stir crazy when Cody was working 12 hours a day, and I was going in two days a week. Hopefully I will be able to keep this pace for a while because I am actually enjoying work which is a first for me in my life :)

That is all that is going on for now! Be looking for pictures soon :)

Ditto. Apartments totally suck. But I just keep thinking how abundantly happy and grateful I will be when we get a house someday. I won't even know what to do with all that space. Keep nesting and good luck on the church hunt. I'll be waiting for honeymoon pics! Miss you!
