Jon & Kate are a couple who have 8 children, 5 year old sextuplets, and 9 year old twins. They have a reality TV show that is really popular, however, even those who don't watch the show are sure to have seen the tabloids with the family plastered all over the front.
All this to say, it's a fact that people who put themselves in the public eye are asking for public scrutiny but it is always heartbreaking when a couple feels they are at the end of their rope, and consider splitting up, and the sadness is multiplied times 1,000 when their are children involved! Jon and Kate are Christians who have always said on their show that their family comes first, and even renewed their wedding vows with their children as witnesses. They must truly be struggling if they are considering divorce and running the risk of dividing their family forever.
Please pray for their 8 children. Even if we do not know them, their children deserve to have two parents who love one another. The kids never had a say in the issue of their fame, so I pray that God can work in Jon & Kate, and heal their family!
Can you imagine if Us Weekly was the deciding factor as to whether or not you had an affair? Though they made the decisions to be in the spotlight this exploitation is so sad and cannot be helpful is trying to save a marriage.

I'm glad you posted about this. I too thought I might do a post about Jon and Kate...I really hope they try harder to work things out, even if that means not filming their tv show anymore. It's so sad to see their marriage crumbling and in last night's episode it seemed as if they had almost given up. I'll be praying for them even though I don't know them. :)
Oh Bethany... how I love you. Chase and I were just sick yesterday watching the TV show. It really is so sad. As soon as it was over, I said, "Can we pray for Jon and Kate?"
I felt a little silly, but felt it was completely necessary.

I was sick after the episode too! I know this happens to a lot of people but since they are on TV you see how happy they used to be and how sad they are now! It's super sad! :(
I too have felt the call to pray for Jon and Kate - I think many others have been called at the same time by the same Father...
God, I lift Jon and Kate Gosselin up to You. I thank You for designing them, for bringing them together. I thank You for their infertility that led to twins and sextuplets. I thank You that You have used the curiosity of the world to provide for their family. I thank You that You have been able to use the avenue of television to show the world that families can and do love You– together. Right now, God, Jon and Kate are hurting. Their marriage is in chaos and they don’t know what will happen and where they will go. So God, I pray right now for Your power and love and grace and mercy to pour into the hearts of Jon and Kate and to pour into their marriage. I pray that You reveal yourself to each of them in a mighty way. Reveal your love, but also show them their sin. Show them how they have turned from You. Show them forgiveness. Through that, God, I know that your desire is to restore their marriage and make it more beautiful than it ever has been. I pray God, that You are in the midst of their struggle and that You remove Satan from every corner of their hearts and of their home. I pray that through all of this, YOU are glorified. I pray that “God moments” are filmed and that those moments make it through to the final production of the show. I pray that Jon and Kate have the courage to publicly turn to You and then to publicly proclaim how good You are. I pray that you use their marriage – the ugly and the restoration to beautiful – to heal other’s marriages and to bring Your beauty back into the public institution of marriage. God I pray that Jon and Kate are overwhelmed by love and that You place a bubble around them and their family. Let that bubble protect them from the evil words, the ugly photos, the hurtful stories. I woke up this morning from a dream where I was praying with Jon and Kate both. I was encouraging them to work on their marriage. It has been weighing on me all day and so I googled pray for Jon and Kate and found you. Thank you for this blog. I lift Jon, Kate and their beautiful gifts from God (children) up in prayer right now. Father protect them all from the attempts of the enemy. Marriage is difficult, but worth it. I lift them up to you as a family and as individuals. You know their needs better than I. Heal them Lord, however they need to be healed. Restore their marriage as only you can do. In the strong and mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Anointed One. Amen.
