News in the Girod Family

Sooo obviously we are having a baby soon, BUT in other Girod news....Cody got a new job!! It's still at Dell, but he is moving out of sales, which means moving out of quotas, wavering salary, and most importantly moving away from STRESS! He has been trying to make a shift within Dell for a while and they make it about near impossible.

The new job starts May 1 which just happens to be the day after my due date, but we are so thankful, and will make it work. I am SO beyond proud of all his hard work and know he will be awesome in this new job. He is such a hard worker, and deserves this like no other. His job has been beating him down for a while now, and I just pray this will be a new fresh opportunity, and a better overall work environment.

In baby G news-I spent over 2 hours today at the OB. I went with one of my best friends Lauren who came in for lunch from San Antonio, and boy did she get full exposure. She is a labor and delivery nurse, so was fascinated by the "office" side of things. My blood pressure was really high which was a bit alarming so they ran all kinds of tests, and I even got to have an ultrasound! That was the best part. The baby is soooo cute with the biggest lips, and chubby cheeks. He was projected to weight about 7.4lbs. The doctor said that was pretty accurate, but can be one pound off in either direction, but I obviously don't have an 8.4 pound baby at this point. Even if he is only 6.4 I feel good about that, and am just happy he looks to be healthy!! He stuck is tongue out, and we could see him doing what they call "practice breathing." I was so proud of him for working on his little lungs!

I had to do blood work, and some other lovely urine tests over the next 24 hours, and will go back in Monday to review results and see if I am in fact Pre-eclamptic. If so we will start discussing induction options for NEXT WEEK!! Ohhhhh my, I cannot believe it! If everything looks good, and blood pressure is only slightly elevated I think they might let me go into the 39th week, or maybe even 40th. I'm not really sure. My nurse feels sure I am developing sighs that will contine to progress, but we shall see. I'm not really progressing or dialated more than barely a centimeter, so the doctor informed me that I would really increase my chance of having a C-Section if I started the induction at 1 centimeter.

Anyway, thanks for hanging in there for this loooong blog post. I will definitely keep everyone posted. Maybe we will have a baby soon! Yippee, I better pack my bag!

I am CRACKING up at the picture of Cody with the mask on. That is awesome and I am so glad you got a picture. Sleep can be a bit tricky there at the end for both mom and dad. : )
