Little Lyla, Birthday Fun & Friends & New Stuff

These photos are all out of order, but provide a brief overview of what has been going on lately. We are starting to love Austin more and more, however, have been traveling like crazy these days so it seems rare that we are at home. We have been involved more with church, and have made a HUGE effort to get connected. I finally feel like I am settling into life here. Enjoy the pictures below :)

This is Cody and I at Ousies in Houston for a delicious Valentines day dinner with Vick and Dougie. We came to Houston for V-day weekend to go to Roxanne's church shower and hang out with the family.
This is our wonderful new guest bed. Cody's mom gave us money for a new bed as a wedding gift and we finally went and picked one out. We didn't get new bedding yet, so this room looks quite similar to my college bedroom with the same curtains and bedding, but it works!

Okay guests- it's time to come visit us, we got a bed JUST for YOU!

We also attempted to spruce up our little patio as well. We love our cute table and chairs!

New lights to provide a nice ambiance while we are chilling on the porch at night.

Some how Cody managed to grow up never learning how to tie a tie. Here Dougie and Codel were having a little pre-dinner lesson. SO CUTE I had to photograph.

My wonderful friend Alyssa that I NEVER get to see. We were able to catch up a few weeks ago at a friends wedding shower (p.s. I look REALLY tired here).

My High School best friends! LOVE THESE GIRLS.

Cody look me out to dinner at Che Zee for my birthday, and not only do I love this restaurant, but it holds a special place in my heart because it is where Cody look me for our 1 year anniversary.

For nostalgic purposes Cody wore the same outfit he wore when we came here a couple of years ago! So cute! What guy thinks to do this? He also gave me lessons to get scuba certified for my birthday.

Me stricking a pose on the way out. This place has awesome decor, and lights eveywhere!

Play time with Lyla at Hobby Lobby. We found a minuture couch that was calling her came.

You may think she looks big on this couch, but if you saw how teeny the couch was you would realize how tiny Lyla still is!

Chillin.
Mama Marie and Lyla. We finally got to spend some time together today and it was AWESOME cathing up. Marie rescued me from ghettoville where my car was getting fixed and we had lunch and ran errands. We went to Chuys and EVERYBODY had the same exact thing to say about Lyla. Approximately 50 conversations went as follows:

Stranger: Oh my goodness she is SOOO small, how old is she?

Marie: She is two months?

Stranger: Only two months? She looks about a week old!

Marie: Yup, she was really small when she was born.

Stranger: Wow! She looks like a little doll.

This was really cute at our first destination, however, after the 100th stranger mentioned how small Lyla was I felt a little bit bad more Marie, but she was really sweet about it, and let everyone take a look at precious little Lyla Elizabeth.

I love that Marie has a baby so I can live vicariously through her! I did go with her to the doctor though, and we had to witness the most devastating event. Lyla had to get 6 shots and it was quite tramatic for her little body. She was a trooper though!

That is all I have for now. Hopefully I will have something good to talk about soon :)

Oh, and Chez Zee is the best! I hosted THREE showers there while we lived in Austin.
