We Bought Our Very First House!!!!!!

After many years or waiting, saving, and some incredible blessings along the way, we were able to FINALLY purchase our very own home! Words CANNOT describe the excitement, and our little house is just amazing! We would have been happy with anything, and with how the housing market is right now, it was nothing short of a miracle that we got this house

Let me tell you the story real quick. We have been house sitting/renting (sort of) from some friends who live abroad in Korea. We were planning on moving out in November, but plans changed quickly, and we were faced with a summer move out. We figured that would work out perfectly because summer is the "hot season" for houses coming on the market. We started religiously house hunting, and scouring  HAR so we could pounce on something when it came up!

We were faced with some serious disappointment when we realized that there were about a million other people who were in the same boat as us, with much more money than us, and we were outbid multiple times on homes that were selling within 12 hours of being listed!! Wow!! The second house we looked at we FELL IN LOVE WITH to find out that we were the lowest of 12 offers. Our amazing. incredible. patient. kind.  new best friend of a Realtor advised me to make a little marketing flier of our family, and the tag line in bold print, along with endearing pictures of my children needing a home read "PICK US." Apparently this struck a cord with the sellers, and against all odds they DID pick us. We were in shock. God is GOOD.

We had to negotiate a few things, and amazingly enough they were all resolved in our favor. We close Friday at noon. I am still in shock, and oh so excited! This is such a big move for our family, and while I am going to have to refine my budgeting skills (like a lot), I can't wait to build a home for our little family. We have never lived in a place for more than 18 months since we were married. Max who is only two years old has now had 4 homes! Heavens! So we plan to law down some serious roots in this house! A major plus also, is that this house is in the neighborhood we live in now where a lot of our family and friends live!

Here are a few pictures. The furnishing are the sellers so hopefully they don't stumble across this blog and get mad at me for posting pictures of their stuff, but I just had to share! Come visit us! We have a guest room (hopefully with a bed soon) with your name on it!

Oh wow, that technique really worked, eh? Haha! Well, most of the time, house shopping really takes a lot of time due to certain circumstances. In your case, it's that you were always outbidden. Well, thanks to your realtor for coming up with a way to make the seller pick your family amongst all bidders. Good job!

Amazing technique! Lady luck must've been on your side that time. Realtors really know best, ehh? You found a reliable one, and because of his bright idea, you got the house that you want. Be thankful that it did work.

Wow! So, you have a lot to thank your ingenious of a realtor for. :D People love stories and a little drama. That marketing flyer stint surely stirred sympathy for the sellers. Not that you don’t deserve it, okay? What I mean is that, every seller would want to pass their house to a family who they see their own family in or simply to a group of good people. Congrats! :)) Carmen@Houston Churchill Mortgage
