Weekend Fun

We have had a great weekend, and always love the extra time we get to spend with Cody! We were invited to a little pre-labor day/UT bbq with some friends before they actually left to go watch the game live! We (as in Cody) were a little jealous we didn't get to go to the game, but it is still SO hot so I'm not too sad. Plus I kind of dislike football. I know, I said it. Today we were bound and determined to get to Westover (a church in the area) that we have been trying out lately. We love our church, but are looking for a place that has a slightly more family friendly atmosphere. Well, I am strongly opposed to waking up sleeping babies, and Max snoozed through the entire time frame we needed to be getting ready and out the door. Because of his little siesta, we went to the evening service at the Austin Stone (our usual church). Well, I guess church just wasn't in the cards for us today. Here are the steps involved in church tonight:

Step 1- Walked in the door to realize Max was dripping in poop, and it was slowly seeping onto me.
Step 2- Had a great family bonding experience in the designated "family" restroom were we burned through a full pack of wipes, and paper towels to try and make ourselves presentable/acceptably scented.
Step 3- Found a seat on the very back row to have Max start crying and shaking when the music started (this has never happened)
Step 4- I took him out to chill and have a bottle, to find that the cap wasn't screwed on and 5 ounces of liquid gold covered both of us.
Step 5- Texted Cody that "we are out of here."

I guess the Praise Baby DVD and some family time tonight will have to be our church substitute. Anyway, the one positive to missing church this morning was that we went of a looooong walk to the cutest little cafe in our neighborhood and had breakfast. Max was such a trooper in the heat, and loved the hustle and bustle of the restaurant. There was about a 30 minute wait so we weren't sure if he was going to hit a wall, but he was a little doll. He took a little power nap in Cody's lap, but no tears were shed.

I'm so thankful for my little family!

Sporting is size 2T jersey :) Cutie patoot!
