Levi 1-3 Months
I know "Levi 1-3 Months" is an unfortunate title indicating that I haven't been on top of monthly updates for my newest bundle. I have, however, recorded important stats and taken pictures. Maybe I will just commit to quarterly updates now! I have loved so much referring back to my monthly Max blogs, and it's fun to compare these two boys and see their similarities and differences.
They looked so much alike to me at birth, but now that I have a second boy, I am aware of how HUGE Max actually is. I worried somewhat about Levi's size (which is funny now looking back) when I would take him to the doctor for weight checks, or compare him to good ole' Maxwell Stone. I think he might be the tallest toddler there ever way. Anyway, this blog is not about him.
My sweet Levi is now three months old, but I want to break it down by month for my memory.
At 1 months (really only 3 weeks so I could take the boys together)
Weight- 9.1 lbs (50%)
Height- 21 inches (10% I'm sorry what?!)
FOC- 38 (50%)
At 2 months:
Weight 13.1 pounds (75%)
Height: 22 inches (50%)
FOC- 60% but a sippy cup spilled on the paper in my purse and I can't read the number, maybe 40?
He had a huge growth spurt in weight between 1 and 2 months and the doctor said he expects his next growth spurt will be in height, and he will level out around 70th(ish) percentile in all areas. That's just a guess of course.
At 3 months we don't go to the doctor, but he is definitely getting fatter! He looks like such a butter ball and I LOVE it. His best feature by far though is his SMILE. I have never in my life seen a baby smile more than Levi, and I love it so much. It really does make my day every day, and is such a pick me up amidst the exhaustion of spending my days with a toddler and infant. He is such an easy smile, and has been this way since he was about 2 weeks old. Max was a happy baby, but it doesn't even compare to this little dude.
From about weeks 2-8/9 he had some gas/tummy troubles and would grunt and strain for hours during the early morning, and had a lot of trouble napping for very long. He would often sleep a decent 4-5 hour stretch at night starting at birth really, but that was just about the only consolidated chunk Cody and I were getting if Max's schedule cooperated too. I was starting to feel so bad/grow weary of the hours and hours of discomfort he was feeling, but the doctor and I just couldn't pinpoint the issue. We determined is was just his immature digestive system since he wasn't displaying signs of allergies or intolerance to my milk. We dabbled with reflux meds, but I was never very dedicated to giving them. I also tried to cut out dairy, but pretty much failed miserably with that one. Power to all the mamma's who can actually do that!!
Miraculously enough though the issues have almost cleared up 100%. He is a very tooty fellow, and can clear a room (sorry Levi if you're reading this 10 years from now-but it's true) but is happy as a clam these days. I am thankful every day for his temperament, and personality. I didn't think God would grant me another "easy" baby, and while we definitely have challenging days, they are becoming fewer and farther between. I am seeing the newborn slip away into a baby.
So at 3 months Levi is:
(this is long and boring and for me to remember)
-Finally sleeping in his own room in a Rock-n-Sleep thing. I am weird about horizontal sleep until about 4 months. He would obviously be fine.
-On a GOOD night will go to bed around 10:30, sometimes stir about 4a.m. (insert paci) and wake up to eat between 7:30-8:30a.m.. He usually falls back asleep until about 10a.m. but is sometimes up for the day after he eats. I bring him to bed with me a lot after that morning feeding if Max is still asleep, so when I get up to get Max Levi usually wakes up too.
-Takes 3 or 4 naps a day, but this isn't very scheduled or consistent with that. I am all about a nap schedule, but can tell Levi isn't going to get my undivided attention all day to make that happen unfortunately.
-Laughing and cooing, and starting to make the "gaga" sound.
-Trying to roll over from back to front but doesn't have it down yet
-Nurses 6 times a day, and definitely prefers that over the bottle.
-Loves musical toys
-Has found his hands and is always chewing on this to the point of gagging.
-Loves his bath
-Is a much better self soother than Max, probably because I don't always get to rock him to sleep, and he is exhausted by the time he finally hits the bed.
Overall, he is a precious, SWEET, relaxed little man. I couldn't be more thankful for him if I tried.
