Like I said, I am catching up on my blog today, so this 16 month update will be short and sweet. I just want to document all that I remember about little Max so I can look back on these monthly updates later! Again, pictures unrelated to post.
16 months was a HUGE month of change in him. He seems to comprehend everything we say, and is becoming a very good listener. He loves playing with older kids, and has so much fun when a big group of family and friends are together. He will dance, laugh, and show off for hours. He can't contain his excitement!
I hosted our annual college girls reunion this year at my house, which consisted of 7 girls, Max, and 5 kiddos under 1 year old. It was craziness but so much fun. Max didn't know what to think about all the people in his house, but did really well. He is learning to play with others, and it's fun to watch. He still prefers adults though, probably because he gets the most praise and attention from them-ha! His Aunt KK was off work this month, so we got to spend a ton of time with her as well.
I can't remember them all, but a few of his new words this month were:
*Ice
*Giraffe (which is almost impossible to understand)
*Pa (for grandpa)
*Yance (for Uncle lance)
He also can point to his eyes, ears, and my belly button when asked. I think he finds my belly button hilarious because he will run over, pull up my shirt, and start pushing it in and laughing. I'm glad my child doesn't know how to be judgmental haha. He doesn't seem to care that his mom is large and in change, and looks different from everyone else around! He actually seems to gravitate toward pregnant people! He ran over to my friend Kathryn at church the other day and hugged her leg. She also had a big pregnant belly at the time and I think he just assumed it was me. I guess when he looks up he can't really see my face anyway!
16 months has brought one molar, and more than one tantrum over the ipad or cell phone, but overall was a fun great month! Little did I know it would be the last month I would be allowed to be up and playing with him before I was put on bed-rest. More on that to come....
